Ruths 4 yr old checkup

So as soon as we got home we had Ruths 4 yr old check up. She consistently failed her eye test. 3 times....

The nurse kept saying "Her eyes surely can't be THAT bad... she is just being shy probably." I knew it in my heart that she wans't just being shy and that she did know all of the shapes being asked and that something wasn't right. The doctor then wrote a consult to the optometrist. We got there and she wasn't shy at all. Talked to him, did everythign they asked her to. She had the puff of air blown in her eye, 3 sets of eye drops to dilate her eyes, and an hour long of questions "whats this, whats that, how many of them are there, which one can you see better, etc." The conclusion... her vision is far from par.

It turns out that she has many problems but most of them stem from a form of albinoism that she posesses. We had no idea that her blonde hair blue eyes meant she was partially albino. She has very little pigment under her eye which means she has a lot of problems in the sun. This trait also causes her eyes to "flutter" constantly. On top of that she is slightly cross eyed, has an astigmatism and is both near and far sighted.

But my goodness is she a diva in those glasses!

Baptism in Pennsylvania

We are back from our long trip to the states and needed to get some much needed updates done! We did many things while we were in Pennsylvania and visited some really great people. We miss them all so much and can't wait to soon be in the states and just a drive away and not a world away. Here is a picture of the baptism we had for Russell. He slept through the service but we got a very nice family picture afterward!
Thanks for everything to everyone we saw while in PA. We miss you and will be close soon.
