HAPPY EASTER!

We hope you all had a great Easter. I hosted Easter at my house. Ruth, Russell, and I had a great day with friends, lots of food, and another egg hunt.

The three inseperable cuties...

Looking at what might be inside!

The easter bunny

As mentioned in my last post, we went to see the Easter bunny and to the base Easter egg hunt after dropping Robert off at the airport. Here are some cute pictures to share...

Robert has to go away for 3 weeks

Robert left for Atlanta on Saturday. He will be there for a bit over 3 weeks. As soon as Robert began packing his bags Ruth became a different child. She has taken this Daddy's girl ideal to a new heigth. Thursday when Robert began packing in the evening she started whimpering and crying. She just wanted to go to bed and not eat dinner. So we allowed her to. The next day she woke up and the same thing happened. She was a mess. She didn't want to eat, she didn't want to go to ballet, she was sleeping all day, and she just wanted Robert to hold her. We thought surely there was something wrong. We took her to the ER (she had hit her head the night before and we were worried she may have a concussion). All was ruled out and Anxiety was ruled the culprit of this behavior. Its been 5 days since all of this has started and she is no different from last Thursday.

We tried to make the most of our time. The night before he left we stayed up late all curled up in our jammies and died easter eggs together.

She has only had one solid meal. Saturday, after dropping Robert off at the airport we went to the base easter egg hunt. This is where everyone and their mother asked "whats wrong Ruth" as she pouted around. I ended up giving her this big long speech in the grocery store afterward about how its not so bad and all of the fun things we will do and how little time he will be gone. She felt better for a moment in time. We ran home and ate... she ate good. She seems happy here but look into her eyes... the sadness in them melts my heart. This is the ONLY meal she has eaten in 5 days. I hope it gets better...

Cavallo anyone?

So for those of you who have been to Italy, you know that cavallo is a highly chosen meat here as chicken or beef is in the states. Robert and I LOVE cavallo. For those of you who haven't been or do not know what I am referring to.... Cavallo is Horse! Its so delicious in a panini! Well...if Robert and I love the sweet taste of horse I thought... why not Russell? So we set off to the supermarket and found some Cavallo baby food. Oh yes; they do feed their children cavallo baby food. Russell loves it... I mean, loves it. It is by far his favorite. We know this by the way he kicks, throws his arms, hits the tray and pants in excitement for the next bite.

And on a side note: Another popular baby food here in Italy... Pasta (of course). Thats our next step!
